It's 2015, and I think I'm finally ready to share my best-kept secret...

While it's no secret I love music, I tend to keep my sources to myself. Since my music taste tends to be very eclectic, I look to different nooks-and-crannies of the interweb.

When I'm in the mood for Alternative (sometimes indie), believe it or not, I turn to one of my local radio stations. If you live in the greater Providence, RI area, I highly recommend 95.5 WBRU. If and when I listen to FM in my car, I trust that station, and that station only. If I feel like getting ahead of the game, their DJ's do a great job frequently curating their own playlists of great new music on their website.

For a couple of years now, I've grown more intrigued by the deep-house/chillstep/chillwave/sax house genres. THIS is where my secret comes into play. YouTube has become increasingly popular in music promotion and discovery recently. I've been a part of the YouTube game for a while now and when one of my favorite heavy-hitters Ben Brown recommended a song featured on The Sound You Need's channel a while back, I instantly fell in love.

The genre featured on The Sound You Need was something I had never heard before, but was completely drawn into. I've watched their channel grow from a few hundred thousand subscribers into the millions over the years, and it seems that my secret's been let out. I now look to their channel when I want new, refreshing music that's so different from everything being spun commercially.

If you're anything like me, you'd be thinking, "House music, really? There's no way I'd ever like that" but listen to one song and your mind just might change. Sure, there's definitely house roots, but this genre is something you've never experienced. Each thump of base, fleeting vocal, and bright note will flow through your body and straight to your soul.

Seriously, give it a listen.
